Description

“The Island” was designed and hand crafted by multi award-winning jeweller Paul Amey in Australia.  Paul’s second sculpture is stamped with his registered makers mark and precious metal marks.  The sculpture has over 1,200 hours of labour and was completed in March 2021.  All components are masterfully handcrafted by Paul Amey with no casting or 3D imaging used.  Diamond and stone settings were all carried out by Paul Amey.

The objet d’art consists of a romantic interpretation of an island atoll occupied by a Caruso type character who is in no hurry to finish his hobby (the boat), instead hiding his tool box and enjoying an afternoon drink, watching the island’s many inhabitants.  This totally handcrafted table piece endeavours to capture the romance of everybody’s dream of a tropical island.

“The Island” has been crafted from hand-made pieces of tarnish resistant sterling silver.  “The Island” base has been specially carved by Paul from russo marble and travertine stone.  To complete the design, Paul has sourced pumice from Sunshine Beach, Queensland.
