Q. Why is Paul Amey different?
A. Paul Amey is a traditional manufacturing retailer. We manufacture a large percent of our own stock and only buy in goods from reputable manufacturers.
Q. What services do you offer?
A. We offer a complete range of services. We can make anything that you can imagine except chain as it is not economically viable, repairs and valuations. All services are carried out on the premises by a fully qualified Master Goldsmith, that’s right, your goods do not leave the shop.
Q. How do I go about having something individual and unique designed and manufactured?
A. Make a no obligation free appointment with our Master Goldsmith and if you have any goods you wish to recycle bring them in with you. We have examples and photos to get you started if you don’t have any ideas of your own.
Q. Can I melt down my gold and make it into something else?
A. Yes, except white gold can generally not be re-melted but major alterations can be made to give your designs a totally new look, therefore saving you money.
Q. How do I know that the metal and precious stones I leave with you are going to be returned to me, or used in my new article?
A. Rest assured that your goods will always be used in your new designer piece. Sometimes when stones are removed from their original setting, they can appear to be different, smaller or larger etc. This is because of the stylised way modern settings are made, today.
Q. Is my jewellery insured while at Erotic Jewellery Company premises?
A. Your own insurance company covers your jewellery while on our premises for any purpose.
Q. How do I know that I am purchasing quality products?
A. Here at Erotic Jewellery Company, our policy is to carry only the best available products.
Q. Is white gold dearer than yellow gold?
A. Yes, due to the exotic metals used to make it white, i.e. palladium.
Q. What is a good diamond?
A. To keep it simple a good diamond is white with no marks visible to the naked eye. Many retailers will try and sell you dirty white stones and that is all they will ever be.
Q. Has GST made jewellery more expensive?
A. New jewellery is now cheaper but all repairs now attract a GST charge.
Q. Any advantage in buying overseas?
A. If anything does go wrong Erotic Jewellery Company offers a full 12 month guarantee on all products and the Government pays back GST upon departure from Australia with minimal conditions.
Q. How often should I have my jewellery cleaned and checked?
A. Usually once a year is a good idea. The jeweller can check for any signs of wear and advise if any work is required. We offer free lifetime cleaning on all our manufactured products.
Q. How often should I have my valuations updated?
A. Usually every 2 years is sufficient.
Q. What value goods should be individually insured?
A. All insurance companies vary, but usually anything over $1000 is a good starting point.
Q. When getting a valuation do I have to leave my jewellery on the premises?
A. No, in fact we prefer you not to. We will take all your details while you wait, and then type your valuation, ready for you to collect or post out to you. We also offer a photo service. Payment in advance is required.
